전세계인들을 감동시킨, 철도원의 6세 아이의 구출작전, 그것도 인도에서 있었다. 빠른속도로 진입하고 있었던 고속열차와의 5초 싸움에서 우리 인간이 승리한 쾌거였었다.  인구가 많은 나라거나 적은 나라이거나 우리 인간의 목숨은 값으로 따질수없는, 창조주의 선물이기에 더 빛나 보인다.

전세계에 이찰라를 잘 묘사한 CCTV의 디데오는 SNS를 타고 지구촌에서는 우리 인간승리라는 한표본으로 비디오에서 비디오로, 입에서 입으로 전해졌고, 이시간에도 계속 퍼져나가고 있다.

머리털을  쭈삣하게 치겨 올리고도 남을 비데오 한토막이 월요일, 인도의 한 철도직원(Indian railroad )의 헌신적인 노력으로, 기차역의 플랫폼에서 밑으로 떨어져 철길에서 헤매던 어린 아이의 생명을, 구한 인간승리의 기뿐 소식이 가슴을 쿵쾅거리면서도 잔잔함을 느끼게 한다.  6세 아이가 철길로 떨어진 이유는 아이를 데리고 있었던 엄마는 장님이었었기 때문에, 아이가 엄마손을 놓자마자 달려가 철길로 떨어진 것이라고 한다.

 CCTV video에 촬영된 순간을 인도의 철도청( Ministry of Railways)은  Mumbai의Vangani역에서 일어났던, 어린 아이를 달려오고있는  고속열차와의 초단위를 다투는 시간싸움에서 어린아이를 철길에서 구출하고 간발의 차이로 본인도 무사히 플랫폼으로 뛰어 올라온, 천당과 지옥을 오고간 짧은 순간을 Twitter에 올려, 전세계인들에게 감동을 주었다.  

이광경을 본 철도신호원은 온힘을 다해 뛰어가, 자칮하면 기차에 치였을 어린꼬마를 플랫폼에 올려놨었고, 본인도 간발의 차이로 플렛폼에 뛰어 올라 살았다.  인도철도청은 철도 신호원  씨를 "둘도없는 착한 사마리탄( good samaritan.")이라고 그의 선행을 감사해 하고 있다.

"우리는 그가 근무중, 계산되지 않은 용기와 최고의 헌신을 보여준것에 정말로 감사할 뿐이다."라고 tweet에서 표현하고 있다.  인도의 철도교통은 전세계에서 4번째로 긴 철도 시설로, 인도에서는 가장 많은 직원들이 근무하고 있다.

지난해, 즉 2020년 3월에, 인도는 철도교통이 시작된지 167년만에 처음으로, 인도수상,  Narendra Modi의 명령으로 운행을 전면 중단 시켰었는데, 이유는 우리 모두가 잘 알고 있다시피 Covid-19 Pandemic 때문이었었다.

그다음달에, 철도청은 20,000개가 넘는 객차를 야적장에 모아놓고, Pandemic환자들을 돌보는 임시 클리닉으로 사용중에 있다.  지금 현재 인도에는 제2차 Pandemic의 급진적인 전파로 고전중에 있다.  인도는 현재 261,500명의 확진자가 발생했는데, 이는 하룻동안에 발생한 환자숫자로는 최고의 확진자 발생이라고, 인도보건성은 발표하고 있다.. 어마어만한 숫자다. 물론 인도의 전체 인구는 중국에 거의 맞먹는 13-14억 인구라고 하니까.... 철도원의 헌신적 봉사에 응원의 박수 보낸다.

(CNN)Hair-raising footage released Monday shows the moment an Indian railroad employee rushed to save the life of a child who had fallen onto the tracks.   

The CCTV video, posted to Twitter by India's Ministry of Railways, showed a station worker at Vangani Station in Mumbai sprinting to rescue a child as an oncoming train sped towards them.

The worker lifted the child onto the platform moments before the train would have hit.

The ministry praised the employee, pointsman Mayur Shelkhe, as a "good samaritan."

"We salute his exemplary courage & utmost devotion to the duty," they added in the tweet.

Indian Railways is the world's fourth-largest rail operator and India's biggest employer.

Why India's train network is so deadly

On March 25 2020, the rail network was suspended for the first time in 167 years when Prime Minister Narendra Modi imposed a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The following month, the railway operator announced plans to convert as many as 20,000 old train carriages into isolation wards for patients as the virus spread.

India is currently dealing with a worsening second wave of coronavirus. On Sunday, the country reported 261,500 new cases -- its highest single-day figure so far, according to data from the Indian Ministry of Health.
