우주 정거장에서 본 지구의 아름다운 광경들 - NASA발표.

NASA가 지구의 날을 맞이하여 우주를 돌고 있는 인공위성과 국제우주정거장에서 활동중인 우주인들이 지난해에 촬영한 환상적인 사진들을 공개 했다.  여기에 그중 몇장을 공개 한다고 하면서 보도했다.

우리귀에 많이 들어본 Gulf of Aden, 툭튀어나온 아프리카의 최북단 일부의 모습인데, European Space Agency소속 우주인 Samanth Cristoforetti씨가 우주 정거장에서 촬영한 것이다.

이사진을 보면서, 나도 언젠가는한번 우주를 날으면서 내손으로 카메라를 들고 촬영하고픈 간절함이 있었다.  Smart Phone, Galaxy S5로 촬영 한다면?  내가 갖고 있는 카메라는 그것이 유일 하기 때문이다.

어떤 사진들은 설명과는 영 다르게 그모습을 보여 준다. 북극빙산 바다를 찍은 아래 사진은 얼른 보면 마치 지하 동굴을 보는것 같은 착각이 든다. 실상은 일식(Solar Eclipse)으로 나타난 형상이 구름위에 반사된 모습을 찍은 것이라고 하는데......

북미 대륙의 중앙 부분과 멀리 사진 좌측 윗부분에 나타난 5대호수의 전경을 보여주는 사진 또한 신비롭다.

이런 사진들이 우주의 신비를 다 풀어 주지는 못하겠지만, 광활한 천체속에서 한점으로 보여지는 지구에 사는 생명체인 우리 인류가 도전장을 내놓고 탐사를 계속하는 노력은 과히 놀랄만 한다.
