이기사를 보면서, 많은것을 생각해 보았다.  엄마는 자식에게 어떤 존재이고, 그은혜가 하늘높이에도 비할수없는, 자식과 엄마사이에서만 존재하는, 특별한 고리인것을....

아들 Karl Joseph은 '동방예의지국'이 무엇이고, 부모에게 은혜를 갚는길이 어떤것인가를 행동으로 보여준, 감동 그자체다. 더욱히나, 이야기의 주인공이 개인주의가 절정을 이루고 있는 서구사회, 그것도 미국에서 있었다는데, 세상사람들에게 경각심마쳐 느끼게 해준다. 감사.

나는 내가 어렸을때, 엄마가 수영장이 딸린 큰집에서 살아보는게 꿈이라고 얘기한것을 잊지못하고 있다. 그리고 나는 내가 8학년때(한국의 중학교2학년) 엄마에게 '꼭 그꿈을 이루어 드리겠다'라는 약속을 기억해왔다. 내평생을 통해서 가장 값지게 될 그약속을 마침내 지키게됐다. 

"가끔씩은 엄마는 그녀의 양육방식을 싫어하기도 했었지만, 자식을 이렇게 키운것에 흡족해 하셨다. 아무말도 하지않고 집키를 그냥 엄마에게 널길 순간을 무작정 기다릴수만은 없었다"

Oakland Raiders safety Karl Joseph capped off a successful rookie season with 60 tackles, six passes defended and an interception. The first-round pick celebrated by buying his mother a house.

In his Instagram post Monday, he recalled telling her in eighth grade that he would one day give her a new home. A man of his word, the 23-year-old bought her one in Florida.

Joseph's agent, Chafie Fields, described his client's selflessness to TMZ Sports.
