아래글은 지난 며칠전에 온타리오 미시사가시의 한 중심가에 있는 6층짜리 건물에 건물 보수요원으로 가장하고 들어선 범인이 3층으로 올라가 그곳에서 방화를 한 사건이 발생했었는데, 오늘 아침 Tonronto Star지에 방화용의자로 보이는, 보수요원으로 위장하여 건물속으로 잠입하는 건장한 사내의 장면이 카메라에 포착되여 일반에 공개된 기사를 보고 여기에 옮겨본것이다. 가뜩이나 경제사정이 안좋아 전세계가 지금

Peel 경찰은 이사람이, 수요일 미시사가의 한 빌딩안에서 방화를 해, 그안에서 근무하고 있던 100 여명의 직원들을 갇히게 했고, 약 5백만 달러의 재산피해를 입힌자라고 발표 했읍니다.
불은 3층에 있는 연방국회의원 Bob Dechert의 사무실밖 복도에서 시작된 것이다.
Central Parkway W.1270번지의 6층 높이의 빌딩에 설치된 감시 카메라를 들여다 보면, 오후 4시30분경에 한손에는 힌플라스틱통을 들고, 다른 한손에는 BBQ용 라이터를 들고 있는 사내가 빌딩정문으로 들어서는 장면이 보인다. 그로부터 7분후 경찰서에는 여러건의 신고전화가 접수 됐었다.
"나는 그사람을 알지 못합니다. 사무실직원들에게 사진들을 잘 점검해 보라고, 그가 누구인지 파악해 보라고, 그가전에 사무실에 들른적이 있었는지등을 파악해 보라고 주문 하기도 했읍니다."라고 연방의원 Dechert씨는 설명합니다. 방화범이 그의 사무실을 목표로 삼고 그런 행동을 했는지의 여부에 대해 Dechert(Mississauga- Erindale)는 그렇게 믿을만한 아무런 연관성이나 이유가 없다고 말했다.
그자신이나 사무실직원들에게 특별한 위협같은것은
전연 없었고, "나는 일상을 넘어선 어떤 이상한 일을 본적도 없었다. 간혹 생활에 대한 비관이나, 시정부, 주정부의 정책에 불만을 품은 사람들이 연방의원들 사무실에 찾아와, 하소연 하는 경우가 있긴 한데 사람들은 연방의원 사무실을 그러한 하소연을 할수 있는 가장 적당한 장소로 여기고 있기 때문일것으로 알고 있다. 이번 방화도 그런 맥락에서 생각해 볼수 있는것 같다"라고 Dechert씨는 설명했다.
또 어떤 사람들은 이번 방화는 연방의회를 오랫동안 폐쇄시킨, 수상 하퍼에 대한 항의 표시와 연관시켜 볼수도 있지 않겠는가? 라고 추측하기도 했다.
그러나 "생각하기 나름이다"라고 Dechert씨는 말한다.
연방의원과 그이 사무실 직원들은 방화용의자가 작업을 하는 복장으로 들어선것으로 위장하고 있는것 같지만, 당시에 빌딩안에서는 아무런 보수작업을 하고 있지 않았었다라고 설명했다. "분명히 위장하고 들어온것 같은데, 내가 볼때는 그가 굳히 손에 든것을 숨길려고 하지 않았다는 점에 관심을 갖고 있다"라고 Dechert씨는 설명한다.
이빌딩에는 그의 1000 Sq-ft 사무실외에 Co-operators보험회사가 3층에 입주해 있었고, 다른 방들은 비어 있었다고 한다. 이번 화재로 3층이 가장 심한 피해를 입었고, 2증,4층,5층에는 화재탐지시설, 수도물시설이 파괴 됐다고 의원은 설명했다.
"이러한 방화로 많은 생명을 위험에 처하게한 범인의 행동에 뭄서리 처진다" 라고 그는 피력했다.

Who is the portly man in orange overalls and a dark T-shirt?
Peel police say he started the blaze that trapped 100 people in a Mississauga building on Wednesday and caused an estimated $5 million in damage.
The fire was lit outside the third-floor office of Conservative MP Bob Dechert.
Images from a security videotape at 1270 Central Parkway W. show a man entering the six-storey building about 4:30 p.m. with a white canister in one hand and what looks like a barbecue lighter in the other.
Seven minutes later, police received multiple calls about a fire at the site.
"I can't say I recognize him," said Dechert on Thursday, minutes after the images had been released. "I've asked my staff to look at the photos, to look at them carefully, if they recognize him ... if he's ever come into the office." While his office is suspected to be the arsonist's target, Dechert (Mississauga-Erindale) said he has no reason to believe it is related to him.
There haven't been any specific threats against him or his staff members, he said. "I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary," said Dechert. "There are people who are upset about life, municipal or provincial issues and come to the MP's office because they believe it's a good place to go and complain."
It "could have been somebody like that."
Some speculate the fire might be related to protests against Prime Minister Stephen Harper's prorogation of Parliament but, said Dechert, "it could've been anyone."
The suspect, described as a white male, 5-foot-7 and about 200 pounds, is wearing overalls like those of construction workers, but the MP and his staff said there is no renovation or repair work being done at the building. "That could be a disguise, too," said Dechert. "I think it's interesting he's not trying to hide the can or the lighter."
Besides Dechert's 1,000-sq.-ft. office, Co-operators Insurance has an office on the third floor; another suite is unoccupied.
The fire caused extensive damage to the third floor and smoke and water damage on the second, fourth and fifth floors, said the MP.
His staff went back Thursday morning. "The hallway is totally burned," said Diane Bubanko, who works for Dechert. Flames spread into the MP's office and burned part of the reception area, but a filing cabinet was not burned. A firefighter told them heat from the fire melted metal sprinkler heads.
But it might have been worse if not for Daniel Duncan, who has been hailed as a hero. The 24-year-old assistant to Dechert was alone in the office when the fire started and tried to extinguish it before pulling the alarm. He suffered second-degree burns to his hands, which were bandaged when he returned to the site on Thursday.
Duncan heard some noise about 4:30 p.m. "It wasn't a bang or a knock," he said. He went to investigate and saw the fire through the peephole. He went to the kitchen, grabbed a fire extinguisher and went back to the smoke-filled hall, where flames were leaping.
"I was able to put out a little ... but there was too much fire." He rushed to the stairwell, ran down to the second floor and triggered the fire alarm. "I yelled at everyone to leave," said Duncan, then he grabbed another extinguisher and tried to go back to the stairwell.
But the smoke had spread and he was forced to go outside, where fire trucks were already pulling in. "I realized later the gravity of the situation," said Duncan. "The flames were big and they spread quickly."
Dechert, who took calls all day from friends, constituents, colleagues and Harper, said he was relieved no was seriously injured.
"It's terrifying that someone could put so many lives at risk."
The MP, now working from his home in south Mississauga, had left the building barely 10 minutes before the fire started. "If I didn't have a meeting scheduled, I probably would have still been there."
