펠로시, GOP의 변론자된 CNN앵커 Wolf Blitzer에 격분, COVID 경기부양책 정체된것에 독설교환.
Wolf 앵커는 약 30년전에 Bill Clinton이 대통령 당선되여 Van Line추럭에 이삿짐 싣고 아칸소주에서 백악관에 입성했을때, 이삿짐 차앞에서 현장 중계했던 기억을 간직하고 있으며, CNN이 요즘 Trump 대통령과 싸우느라 완전 좌파로 보도 내용이 뒤바뀌고 있는 상태에서도 Wolf Blitzer의 Situation Room은 자주 보고있다.
Pelosi하원의장은, 한국의 추미애 무법장관처럼, Trump 와 항상 각을 세워 싸우고 있는 민주당 소속으로, 이번에 CNN의 Wolf show에 출연 하여, CNN은 요즘 민주당쪽을 선호하는 보도를 한다는 전제하에, Wolf와 대담을 한것인데....결국 싸움판으로 변하고 말았다.
Pelosi가 격노하면서 Wolf를 향해, 방송에서 , "당신은 공화당의 대변자냐?"라고 망말을 퍼부어 댔었다.
하원의장 Nancy Pelosi가 CNN anchor, Wolf Blitzer를 가리켜 "공화당의 대변자 역활을 했다고 비난하면서, "Situation Room" anchor,Wolf의 질문에 매우 초조한 표정을 지으면서 폭언을 해댔다.
이들의 대담에서 폭언이 시작된것은, Wolf가 Pelosi의장에게 "왜 트럼프 대통령의 Coronavirus 촉진제 사용 제안을 받아 들이지 않는가?"라고 질문을 던지면서 촉발된 것이다.
"내가 생각하기로는 왜 공화당사람들이 미국인들과 만나서 대화하기를 꺼려하는가에 대한 같은 질문을 나에게 물을것으로 보이는데, 그러나 우리가 대변하는 사람들이나 동료들에 대한 내용들이 대통령의 계획을 설명하지 않는가를 알고져 하는 것이다. 고로 당신이 나에게 얘기할때, 왜 이러한 제안을 받아 들이지 않나? 왜 그들 또한 내 제안을 받아 들이지 않나?"라고 펠로시가 대시한 것이다.
Blitzer가 그녀의 말을 가로 막으면서, 그녀에게 설명하기를 "미국인들은 지금 정말로 돈이 필요하다 설명하면서 하원의원 Ro Khanna, 캘리포니아 출신 민주당의원이 최근에 발표한 "돈이 필요한 사람들은 내년도 2월까지 기다릴 필요가 없다"라고 한말을 상기시키면서, 1조8천억달러규모는 실질적으로 매우 큰액수이며, 오바마행정부때보다 두배 이상 큰 경제 활성화 규모다....이를 받아 들이고 McConnell의 제안에 합류하라"라고 한것이다.
펠로시는 PBS의 앵커 JUDY WOODRUFF 인터뷰중에도 앵커를 향해 마치 공화당 대변인 같다" 라고 쏘아부치기도 했었다.
"Ro Khanna에게 어떤내용을 말을 할수 있을까?"라고 Blitzer가 묻자, "내가 말하고저 하는것은 왜 당신은 항상 대변인 노릇을 하는지 모르겠다... 많은 당신의 동료들은 역시 항상 공화당 정책을 지지하는 대변인들이다. Ro Khanna는 좋은 동료로서, 또한 내년 2월까지 아무도 기다릴수 기다려줄수없다라고 한말은 우리가 원하는 바가 아니다."라고 맞받아쳤다.
1조8천억달러의 경기부양책을 떠올리며 Blitzer가 Pelosi를 다시 압박하면서 물었었다. 와싱턴에서는 모두가 애기를 하는 "왜 대통령의 훌륭한 제안을 받아 들이지 않으면서, 좋은 일을 반대하는 적이 되려고 하는가?"라고 그녀를 다시 몰아 부쳤다.
"그럴까? 나는 잘못된 정책이, 바로 옳은일을 하는것으로 보여지는것을 용납하지 않을 것이다"라고 몰아 부쳤는데, "그러면 1.8천억 달러의 경기 부양책이 뭐가 틀렸다는 얘기인가?"라고 Blitzer또 물었다.
"뭐가 그들과 우리민주당간의 다른점이 뭔가를 생각이나해 보셨나?. 그들은 그들의 법안이 있고, 우리는 우리의 법안이 있다는것을 ?" Pelosi가 그녀의 계획이 담긴 리스트를 들춰보기전에 Blitzer에게 물었다.
"의장님, 이문제가 왜 참 중요한것인지 아셔야 합니다. 지난번 민주당 대통령후보였던 Andrew Yang과 어제 얘기를 나누었는데, 그역시 같은 얘기를 했었다. 당신이 원하는 모든것이 아니지만, 많은것들이 있다는것을 알아야 한다."라고 Blitzer가 대답한것이다.
"솔직히 얘기해서 Andrew Yang, Ro Khanna 모두 좋은 친구들이긴 하지만, 그들이 협상할 상황은 아니야. 그들은 이일에 대해 아이디어가 없어요. 그들은 어떤 얘기를 해야 하는지 아이디어가 없어요....."
인터뷰가 끝날때까지 긴장감이 주위를 돌았었으며, 하원의장 펠로시가 "인터뷰 내내 Blitzer가 트럼프 행정부를 대변하는 Blitzer를 비난한후", Blitzer가 인터뷰를 끝낼려고 했었다.
"우리는 이문제에 대해 옳지 않았다는것을 적어놓고 볼것이야, Wolf. 그리고 이 말하는것을 싫어한다는것 알지. 그러나 나는 확신이 있어요. 또한 나는 내동료들에 확신이 있고, 또한 내 소위원회의 위원장들에 확신이 있다"라고 Pelosi시는 앵커 Wolf에 쏘아댔다.
펠로시 하원의장은 켈리포니아 출신 하원의원으로, 그녀는 사사건건, 트럼프 대통령과 각을 세워 싸우면서 공화당 정책을 비난해 왔는데.... 민주당이 장악하고 있는 하원이 정책발의 하는것을 보면, 마치 한국의 여당 민주당의원들이 하는 수법과 비슷하다.
캘리오니아는 상원, 하원 거의 모두가 민주당이 독식해온지가 무척 오래다. 그래서 대통령 선거운동시, 공화당 후보가 캘리포니아에서 캠패인 한적이 거의 없으며, 민주당 후보 또한 그곳에서 선거운동 한적이 거의 없다. 그곳은 항상 민주당 텃밭이기 때문이다.
상당수의 법안이 하원 통과해서, 상원으로 가면 장시간 토론되던가 아니면 상원 통과하지를 못하는 경우도 있었다.
Pelosi,민주당소속의 하원의장은, CNN의 터줏대감이나 마찬가지인 앵커,Wolf를 하원의장이라는 Power를 이용하여, 자기말에 따르라는식으로 억누르려 했으나, 그의 압력에 밀리지않고, 계속해서 질문하면서 몰아 부치는 Wolf의 뚝심에 잔뜩화가 난것을 참지 못하고 결국 그화난 민낯을 미국을 비롯한 전세계에 추한 모습으로 보여주고 말았다. 이대담을 보면서, 한국의 추미애 무법장관의 안아무인식 권력 횡포를 휘두르는것을 보는것 같았다 느낌이었다. 우리 한국의 방송에서도, Wolf Blitzer같은 앵커가 출현 하기를 간절히 바랐었다. 목이 달아나는 한이 있더라도.... 그러면 그앵커는 추미애보다 더 오래 국민적 영웅앵커로 기억될 것이기 때문이다.
Blitzer는 CNN의 터줏대감 앵커지만, 다른 Don Lemon, Coumo, Jake 앵커들과는 상당히 Moderate한 입장을 취하는 편이다. 앞으로 Wolf가 계속 앵커를 할지 아니면 변동이 있을지는 잘 모르겠으나, 쉽게 자리를 바꿀수는 없을것으로 예측된다. 그가 무사하기를...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., accused CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer Tuesday of being "an apologist ... for the Republican position" during a stunning interview in which she grew visibly frustrated with "The Situation Room" anchor's questions.
The fireworks began when Blitzer asked Pelosi why she "won't accept the president's latest [coronavirus] stimulus offer."
"I hope you'll ask the same question of the Republicans on why they don't want to meet the needs of the American people," Pelosi responded. "But let me say to those people because all of my colleagues -- we represent these people ... and their needs are not addressed in the president's proposal. So when you say to me, 'Why don't you accept theirs?' Why don't they accept ours?"
Blitzer interjected, telling Pelosi that Americans "really need the money now" and quoted Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., who recently said, "People in need can't wait until February. $1.8 trillion is significant & more than twice the Obama stimulus ... Make a deal & put the ball in McConnell court."

"So what do you say to Ro Khanna?" Blitzer asked.
"What I say to you is I don't know why you're always an apologist -- and many of your colleagues [are] apologists for the Republican position," Pelosi fired back, adding "Ro Khanna, that's nice, that isn't what we're going to do and nobody's waiting til February."
The contentious exchange continued when Blitzer pressed Pelosi again about Trump's $1.8 trillion proposal, asking her, "why not work out a deal with him and don't let the perfect, as they say here in Washington, be the enemy of the good?"
"Well, I will not let the wrong be the enemy of the right," Pelosi fired back.
"What's wrong with $1.8 trillion?" Blitzer asked.
"You know what, do you have any idea what the difference is between the spending that they have in their bill and what we have in our bill?" Pelosi asked before ticking off a list of her issues with the proposal.
"That is precisely why, Madame Speaker ... it's so important right now," Blitzer responded "Yesterday, I spoke to [former Democratic presidential candidate] Andrew Yang, who says the same thing. It's not everything you want but there's a lot there."
"But you know what? Honest to God!" Pelosi complained. "You really- I cannot get over it because Andrew Yang, he's lovely. Ro Khanna, he's lovely. They are not negotiating this situation. They have no idea of the particulars. They have no idea of what the language is here ...
The tension carried on until the very end, when Blitzer attempted to wrap up the interview after the speaker accused him of "defending the administration all this time."
"We'll leave it on the note that you're not right on this, Wolf, and I hate to say that to you," Pelosi told the CNN anchor. "But I feel confident about it and I feel confident about my colleagues and I feel confident in my [committee] chairs."
Blitzer responded, "It's not about me, it's about millions of Americans who can't put food on the table, who can't pay the rent, and who are having trouble getting by."
"And we represent them, we represent them," Pelosi repeated several times over Blitzer.
"As we say, don't let perfect be the enemy of the good," Blitzer reiterated.
"It is nowhere near perfect ... we're not even close to the good," Pelosi shot back. "Thank you for your sensitivity to our constituents' needs."
"I am sensitive to them because I see them on the street begging for food, begging for money," the anchor said.
"Have you fed them?" Pelosi blurted out. "We feed them, we feed them."
Tuesday was not the first time the speaker verbally attacked a journalist during an interview.
In August, Pelosi lashed out at "PBS NewsHour" anchor Judy Woodruff, accusing her of being an "advocate" for Republicans during another heated negotiating period on coronavirus relief.
