오늘은, 그동안 오리무중속에서 거의 30년 이상을 미제살인 사건으로 경찰의 골머리를 썩이다가 영원히 미궁으로 빠질번 했던 화성살인사건이, 우연히 다른 범죄사건으로 감옥에 갇혀있던 범인이, 화성살인 사건의 진범으로 밝혀져 또한번 국민들을 경악케 한 범죄가 유명 외신들에 보도 됨으로써, 한국에는 법이 설자리가 없음을 증명하는 대한민국의 취부가 전세계에 알려져, 그렇치 않아도 국제무대에서 국격이 떨어져 숨이 막힐 지경인데.... 청와대와 여당인 민주당은 여전히 조국과 그의 가족 감싸기에 All-in하면서도, 정작 부산지역의 태풍피해로 상당수의 인명피해까지 있었던 국가적 재난복구에는 강건너 등불식으로 하고있다.
화성 연쇄살인 사건의 유력 용의자 이춘재(56)가 모방범죄로 밝혀져 따로 범인이 검거됐던 8차 사건(1988년 9월)도 자신이 저질렀다고 주장한 것으로 확인됐다.
4일 경기남부지방경찰청에 따르면 이춘재는 "화성 사건 8차도 본인 소행"이라고 진술했다.
8차 사건은 1988년 9월 16일 당시 경기도 화성군 태안읍 진안리의 한 주택에서 잠을 자던 박모(당시 13세)양이 숨진 채 발견된 사건이다. 이 사건은 이듬해 7월 경찰이 윤모(당시 22세)씨를 검거해 처벌까지 돼 모방범죄로 결론 났다. 그러나 이춘재는 이 사건마저 자신이 진범이라고 주장하면서 경찰은 진술에 신빙성이 있는지 검증하고 있다.
앞서 이춘재는 현재 화성 연쇄 살인사건으로 분류된 10건의 살인사건 등 총 14건의 살인사건과 30여 건의 성폭행 사건을 했다고 경찰에 자백했다. 경찰의 개별 사건의 진위 여부를 계속 확인할 방침이다.

killings of nine women from 1986 to 1991 in Hwaseong, South Korea after
DNA evidence from four of the crime scenes linked him to the string of
murders, The New York Times reported.

Police
say he also confessed to the rape and murder of an additional five
women and the rape or attempted rapes of at least 30 more women.
Chun-jae was first named as a suspect last month after Seoul’s senior
police officer, Ban Gi-soo, said technological improvement of DNA
analysis allowed authorities to extract samples from the evidence that
wasn't possible at the time of the cases.
Between 1986 and 1991,
nine women between the ages of 13 and 71 were found slain in Hwasong, a
city just south of Seoul. All had been raped and all were found bound by
their own stockings and clothing at sites within a two-mile radius.

According to local media,
he will likely not be prosecuted for the murders, despite his
confession, because of the statute of limitations expiration in 2006.
It is believed that two of the killings took place before the murder of his sister-in-law and the rest followed after.
