인도 북부의 Amritsar의 외곽지역에서 열렸던 힌두교 축제에 참가했었던 인도인들이, 지난 금요일, 달려오던 열차에 치여 현장에서 58명이 즉사하고, 수십명이 부상을 당했다는 슬픈 뉴스다. 뉴스에 의하면, 축제에 참여했던 축하객들이 축제장 옆을 지나는 철길위를 점령하여, 이곳을 통과하는 열차에는 아랑곳 하지 않고 Fire Works 축제무드에 휩쓸려 Celebrating하다가, 이사고를 당한 것이라고 한다.
힌두교 성직자는 이사고를 수습하는 어떤내용의 Pray를 할까? 영생이 존재한다는 그곳으로 무사히 사고희생자들의 영혼을 인도해 주십시요 라고 할것 같다. 이사고를 당하기전에 조금만 더 주위에 신경을 썼더라면, 이러한 인재는 일어나지 않았을지도 모른다.
Amritsar는 약 3년전 1월에 인도 여행시 방문했던, 인도 시크교도들의 본산지가 있는 유명한 지역이다.
이곳에서는 파키스탄과 인도의 Soldiers들이 철재 울타리를 사이에 두고 대치하고 있다가, 매일 Sunset시에 굳게 닫혀있던 Iron Gate를 "꽝" 소리가나게 열어 제치고, 동시에 국기 하강식을 특히하게 진행하고, 국기 하강식이 끝나면, 다시 철재문을 "꽝" 닫고, Soldier들은 제각기 제위치로 되돌아가는, 매우 특이하게 적대국가들 사이에 이루어지는 일종의 기싸움을 벌이는 곳으로 이해를 했었는데, 세계적 관광상품이 되고 있는 곳이기도 하다.
내가 이곳을 방문했을때, 나와 Lunar를 안내했던, Tour Guide는 이런 의식이 행해지고 있지만, 3년전에도국경전쟁이 있었다고 분위기를 전해주었던 기억이있다.
이의식을 보면서, 한반도에서는 평화의 바람이 불고 있다고, 좌파정부는 매일같이 국민들을 향해 떠들고 있는데, 왜 이런 의식하나 진지하게, 판문점에서 남북의 경비병들이 합의하에, 실행 못하나?라는 서글픔이 가슴을 저민다. 문재인과 좌파정부의 관리들이 알맹이없는 회담만 할게 아니라, 하루속이 이곳을 방문하여 현장을 탐사해서 "평화협정"의 실속있는 발걸음을 내딛기를 Advice한다.

나와 Lunar는 인도쪽에서 이 Ceremony를 관람 했었다. 지금도 기억에 생생한것은 이 의식이 있기전, 양쪽 진영에서는 관전하고있는 Tourists를 상대로 Cheerleader를 앞장세우고, 기싸움을 하기위한 응원전이, 하늘을 찌를듯한 큰소리로 있었다.

Train mows down crowd at India festival, at least 58 dead
NEW DELHI — A speeding train ran over a crowd
watching fireworks during a religious festival in northern India on
Friday, killing at least 58 people and injuring dozens more, police
said.
The train failed to stop after the
accident on the outskirts of Amritsar, a city in Punjab state, said the
state governing Congress party politician, Pratap Singh Bajwa.
Police Commissioner S. S. Srivastava said the police have found 58 bodies so far.
The
Press Trust of India news agency said two trains arrived from the
opposite direction on separate tracks at the same time giving little
opportunity for people to escape. However, the casualties were caused by
one of the trains, it quoted officials as saying.
India’s
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was extremely saddened by the
accident. “Have asked officials to provide immediate assistance that is
required,” Modi said on Twitter.
A witness said the train didn’t even sound its
whistle as it sped past the site, where hundreds were watching the
burning of an effigy of demon Ravana during the Hindu festival of
Dussehra.
“Why did authorities allow the
fireworks display so close to the railroad track?,’” he asked. He told
the Republic television channel that he lost two brothers.
Another witness said the victims didn’t realize that a train was coming because the fireworks were too loud.
Navjot
Kaur Siddhu, a local Congress party politician who was the chief guest
at the religious function, said the celebrations take place in the area
every year and railroad authorities are alerted to run the trains at
slow speeds.
A large number of people live in the area with homes on both sides of the railroad track, she said.
However,
junior Railways Minisfter Manoj Sinha said after visiting the accident
site that organizers did not alert railroad authorities about their plan
to hold a religious function there.
Shatrughan Das, an injured 35-year-old factory
worker, said he was sitting close to the railroad tracks watching the
fireworks. “I didn’t see the train coming. I fell unconscious. I saw the
police taking me to a hospital as I regained consciousness.”
“I
am feeling a strong headache and pain in my back and legs,” Das said
from his hospital bed. “But I don’t have serious injuries.”
Following
the accident, people rushed to the site and shouted at railway
officials for not taking precautions. The site of the accident is nearly
465 kilometers (290 miles) north of New Delhi.
At
least 50 injured were admitted to a government-run hospital, the Press
Trust of India news agency quoted Rajesh Sharma, a magistrate, as
saying.
As the effigy was lit and the fireworks
started at the religious function, a section of the crowd started
retreating toward railroad tracks while watching the event.
While
accidents are relatively common on India’s sprawling rail network,
Friday’s was among the deadliest in recent years. In 2016, 146 people
were killed when a train slid off railroad tracks in eastern India.
