중국출신 핵커들, 미국의 Coronavirus연구및 민감한 선진기술 도적질한 죄목으로 재판정에....

중국이 지난 수년동안에 지구촌의 기술선진국들을 마치 자기네집 안방 드나들듯이 하면서, 자국의 이익을 위해서는 무자비하게 정보를 도적질해가는 해킹의 소굴로 변하고 있어, 골치거리가 되고있다. 최근에  중국국적의 핵커들이 수백개의 컴퓨터 시스템을 해킹한 증거가 포착되여, 미연방 검찰이 중국출신 해커들에게 11개의 범죄혐의로 기소된 뉴스가 지구촌이 핵무기전쟁보다 더 무서운 IT Industry전쟁을 하고있다는것을 보여준것이다.

며칠전 미국 텍사스주의 Houston소재 중국총영사관이 폐쇄조치를 당하고 미국에서 쫒겨났었는데, 미국이 힘들게 개발한 첨단기술을, 시샛말로 표현한다면, '손도 안대고 코푸는식으로 도적질 하다가 들통난것이다. 총영사관 폐쇄조치의 골자는 대략 아래와 같다.

중국바이러스로 불리는 Covid-19 Pandemic의 발원지가 중국의 Wuhan 지역에서 발생한것을 세계 각국에서 알고있는데도, 중국은 천연덕 스럽게 미국에서 처음 발생했다는 받아치기 작전으로 지구촌을 교란시켰고, 미중 무역불균형에 대해 공평하게 이루어지지 않고 있을뿐만 아니라 첨단기술을 그동안 셀수도 없이 많이 도둑질해 간것을 인정하고 자백하라고 했지만, 역시 오리발이었었다. 2018년부터 미국이 관세를 부과하자 중국은 이에 상응하는 관세부과로 맞대응해 왔다.  또한 홍콩의 자유민주주의 자치정부의 정치적 기능을 빼앗아, 없애고 사회안접법이라는 괴상한 법을 만들어, 홍콩주민들의 Freedom과 자유민주주의 자치정부의 기능을 몰수하고, 이에 반대하는 홍콩주민들은 폭도로 간주 감옥에 처넣는 반인륜적 행위를 서슴없이 자행하고있다. 이를 항의 하는 미국및 서방세계를 향해 중국은 "내정간섭하지 말라"로 맞서고 있고, 많은 홍콩주민들이 탈홍콩중이다.

미국 법무부(Department of Justice )는 11개의 죄목은 중국국적의 핵커들(Chinese hackers)이 수백개의 컴퓨터 시스템을 해킹한 증거를 포착하고, 11개의 죄목으로 기소된것이다.  법무부가 화요일 발표한 기소내용에 의하면, 2명의 중국인 해커들이 COVID-19 pandemic 연구내용과 미국기업들과 정부 Agency에서 아주 민감한 정보를 훔치려한 죄목으로 기소된것이다.  두명의 중국인 해커는, Li Xiaoyu,34와 Dong Jiazhi, 31이다. 그들의컴퓨터에 수백개의 미국회사정보와 정부조직과 중국의 반정부인사와 성직자들의 정보를 훔친 혐의다.

해커들(The hackers )은 미국과 외국 넷트웍의 안전에 위협을 줄수있는 엄청난 양의 데이타를 훔친것이다라고 국가안보청의 부책임자 John Demers씨가 뉴욕에서 기자회견중에 밝히내용들이다.

Li 와 Dong은 쳉두에있는 중국 대학교에서 같이 수학하면서 컴퓨터 응용테크놀로지를 전공 했으며, 고급기술정보를 소유한 Australia, Belgium, Germany, 일본, 리트아니아, 스페인, South Korea, 스웨덴 그리고 영국이 포함된 여러나라들을 해킹타킷으로 삼았었다고 한다. 이들이 훔친 고급기술은 의료기구제작의 선진기술들과, 공업 Engineering, 사업정보, 교육용및 게임용 소프트웨어,에너지와 제약기술 등등이 포함되여있다.

"중국은 지금 Russia, 이란 그리고 북한과 한통속이 되여 그들만의 크럽을 만들어 사이버 범죄자들에게 안전한 대피처를 제공하고, 대신에 중국공산당이 그렇게도 목말라하는 미국과 또 중국이 아닌 다른 여러나라들이 힘들여 개발한 고급연구자산을 중국공산당에 제공하고,또한 이득을 서로 챙기는 작업을 이끌어가고 있다. 이고급기술중에는 Covid-19백신기술도 포함되여 있었다라고, Demers씨는 설명해주었다.

중국은 현재 미국을 포함한 많은 서방세계국가들로 부터, 2019년도에 중국의 Wuhan시에서 첫발생한 Coronavirus방역 실패에 대한, 심한 반발에 직면하고 있다.  이러한 비난에 중국은 심하게 맞대응으로 반발하고있으며, 미국이 지구촌 전염병을 정치적 흥정거리로 이용하고있다고 역으로 비난 하고있다.  중국은 아직까지 중국인 해커, Li 와 Dong에 대한 기소건에 대해 아무런 반응을 보이지 않고 있다.

한국정부는 당연히 미국을 포함한 서방세계의 중국비난에 동참하고, 한국도 이번 중국의 해커들로 부터 많은 기술을 헤킹 당한것으로 Demes씨가 발표한것을 보면, 이미많은 정보가 중국인 해커들에게 도둑 맞았다는 뜻인데,문재인 정부는 아직까지 아무런 언급이 전연없다.  가장많은 피해를 본 한국기업들은 아마도 IT Industry인것으로 보이는데, 이를 빌미로 중국을 비난하면 문재인 정부와 패거리들로 부터 역공을 당할것이 두려워 속앓이만 하고 있는것을 보면서, 얼핏 떠오르는게 한층 Upgrade된 5G의 선진기술이 시행하기도전에 중국으로 넘어가, 하웨이가 세계시장에서 선점을 하고 있다는 슬픈 소식으로 암울했었는데, 늦은감은 있지만 다행스럽게도 미국과 영국을 비롯한 서방세계들이 자국내의 WiFi Upgrade된 5G 시스템을 중국의 Huawai방식에서 한국을 비롯한 Nokia 로 계약을 했거나 생각하고 있다는 뉴스는 반가운 소식이다.  문재인 정부의 코멘트가, 이러한 중국의 해킹에 대해, 지금 꼭 필요한 때인데...무척 아쉽다. 

Chinese hackers charged by Justice Department with trying to steal US coronavirus research

The 11-count indictment alleges the Chinese nationals hacked into hundreds of computer systems

The Department of Justice announced Tuesday it has charged two Chinese hackers with trying to steal U.S. COVID-19 research as well as other sensitive information from businesses and government agencies.

The 11-count indictment against Li Xiaoyu, 34, and Dong Jiazhi, 31, alleges the Chinese nationals hacked into the computer systems of hundreds of companies, government organizations as well as individual dissidents and clergy.

They also allegedly broke into the accounts of democratic and human rights activists in the United States, Hong Kong and mainland China. The Justice Department alleges their con, which for a decade had allegedly been stealing sensitive information, was not only for personal financial gain but also to benefit the Chinese government.

"The hackers stole terabytes of data from hundreds of targets establishing themselves as a prolific threat to U.S. and foreign networks," Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers said during a press conference in New York.

Li and Dong, trained in computer applications technology at the same Chinese university in Chengdu, targeted countries with high-tech industries, including Australia, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Lithuania, Spain, South Korea, Sweden and the United Kingdom, authorities said. The industries included the high-tech manufacturing of medical devices, industrial engineering, business, educational and gaming software as well as in energy and pharmaceutical defense.

"In at least one instance, the hackers sought to extort cryptocurrency from a victim entity, by threatening to release the victim's stolen source code on the Internet," the FBI said. "More recently, the defendants probed for vulnerabilities in computer networks of companies developing COVID-19 vaccines, testing technology and treatments."

Li and Dong's actions are "concrete examples" of two concerning trends, Demers said.

'BACKDOOR' ACCESS FOUND IN CHINESE INTERNET DEVICES, RESEARCHERS SAY

"China is using cyber intrusions as part of its 'rob, replicate and replace' strategy to technological development," he said, adding that Beijing is also "providing a safe haven for criminal hackers who, as in this case, are hacking in part for their own personal gain but willing to help the state and on call to do so."

Demers claimed China has upped its brazen willingness to engage in theft through computer intrusions contrary to their international commitments.

"China has now taken its place, alongside Russia, Iran and North Korea, in that shameful club of nations that provide a safe haven for cyber criminals in exchange for those criminals being 'on call' to work for the benefit of the state, here to feed the Chinese Communist Party's insatiable hunger for American and other non-Chinese companies' hard-earned intellectual property, including COVID-19 research," Demers said

China has faced global backlash led largely by the United States for downplaying and failing to contain the coronavirus, which originated in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in 2019.

China has pushed back strongly on the accusations and has accused the U.S. of using the global pandemic to play politics.

China has not yet responded to the charges against Li and Dong.
