유명을 달리한 미국인 가족중 한명인, Carol Karanja는 Kenya행 비행기에 탑승하기전, WhatsApp을 통해 그녀의 여동생에게 보낸 메세지에서 이미 불길한 일이 있을것을 예측하고 있었다고 했다.
토론토 시내에서 약 25분쯤 서쪽으로 달려가면 브람튼시에 도착한다. 그곳에 거주하고 있었던 가족6명은, School March Break을 맞아, 평생에 한번 있을 가족여행을 하던중 이런 참변을 당한 것이다.
나자신은 그시간에 애티오피아의 Addis Ababa 시내 외곽을 여행중이었었다. 소식을 접한 순간, 내자신이 그비행기에 탑승했었더라면....

이사고가 있기 며칠전에 나와 Lunar는, 같은 동종의 Boeing 737Max를 타고, Jimbabwe소재,Victoria Falls에서 Ethiopia수도, Addis Ababa로 가기위해 약 7시간을 탑승했었다. 당시 비행기의 Cabin은 무척 깨끗하고 새로운 비행기 였음을 인지했었다.
이사고가 발생후 세계 여러나라의 항공사들이 동종의 비행기를 전부 Ground시켰고, 미국과 캐나다는 계속 운항시키겠다고 발표 했었다가, 오늘 아침 뉴스에 의하면, 미국과 캐나다도 운항중지를 명령했고, 제작사 Boeing에서도 동종의 비행기 운항을 전면 중지해줄것을 판매국에 통보했다는 뉴스다.
A Brampton couple says their six family members were about to experience “the trip of a lifetime” in Kenya before they were tragically killed in the Ethiopian Airlines crash on Sunday.
“They thought that the March Break period was going to be the perfect time for them to go over there, have fun … It was going to be a great trip for everybody,” Manant Vaidya told Global News on Monday.
Manant’s father, 73-year-old Pannagesh Vaidya; his mother,
67-year-old Hansini Vaidya; his sister, 37-year-old Kosha Vaidya; her
45-year-old husband, Prerit Dixit; and their children, 14-year-old Ashka
Dixit and 13-year-old Anushka Dixit, died when the Ethiopian Airlines
jetliner crashed shortly after taking off from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s
capital. All 157 passengers and crew on board were killed. There were 18
Canadians on board.

week before Carol Karanja boarded the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines
flight that crashed Sunday on its way to Kenya, she sent a message to
her sister, saying she had an uneasy feeling.
"My heart isn't really excited. I feel like there's something bad ahead, but I don't know what," the WhatsApp message read.
Karanja
was traveling from Canada to Kenya with her three children and her
mother. She was so worried about the trip, she sent a similar message
expressing her fear of the impending journey to her father before she
boarded the flight.
Thousands of
miles away in Kenya, worried about her older sister's premonition, Kelly
Karanja asked her the exact day she'd arrive and told her to pray about
it.
"10th. Will let you know the time," Carol Karanja messaged.
Carol
Karanja never made it to their Kenyan homeland. She was among the 157
people killed when the plane crashed just minutes after take off from
Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. Also killed was her mother,
Ann Wangui Karanja, and her three children: Ryan Njoroge, 7, Kellie
Pauls, 4, and 9-month-old daughter, Rubi Pauls.
