방문 기간중 김정은 가족들과 함께 바닷가 휴양지에서 친목을 나누었다고 자랑삼아 했다고 한다. 많은 사람들이 그가 김정은과 시간을 보낼때, Kenneth Bae의 석방을 부탁 하기를 바랐었다고 한다. 그같은 질문에 그는 신경질적으로 " 나의 방문과는 상관없는 일이다" 라고 일축했다.

그는 시간 지나고 보면 다 부질없는 공상누각을 지었다는것을 느끼게 될것이지만, 기왕이면 더 늦기전에 깨달아 On time에 인간으로서의 할일을, 특히 국가를 이끌어 가는 지도자로서의 이성적인 leadership를 발휘 하기를 기대해 보고 싶다. 귀여운 딸을 보면 그생각이 들것 같기도 한데, 글쎄다. 그의 딸의 해맑은 옹아리가, 그가 쥐고 있는 모든것을 상식적인 보통사람들의 생각으로 전환 시키는 특효약 효과를 나타냈으면 한다.

He said that he spent time with Mr Kim's family by the sea, and described him as "a good dad".
Mr Kim leads one of the most secretive countries in the world, with relatively little known about his personal life.
"The Marshal Kim and I had a relaxing time by the sea with his family," Mr Rodman said.
"I held their baby Ju-ae and spoke with [Mr Kim's wife] as well. He's a good dad and has a beautiful family," he said.
Last year, photos of Ri Sol-ju, Mr Kim's wife, prompted speculation that she was pregnant, although there was no official confirmation.
North Korea only confirmed Ms Ri was Mr Kim's wife in July 2012, a month after she was first seen in public with him.

Mr Rodman, who has visited North Korea twice this year,
remains the most high-profile American to meet Kim Jong-un since the
leader took over after his father died in 2011.
Speaking to reporters in Beijing on Saturday, after his return from North Korea, Mr Rodman angrily rejected calls to lobby for the release of an American detained in North Korea.
"That's not my job to ask about Kenneth Bae,'' he said.
Kenneth Bae (known in North Korea as Pae Jun-ho) was arrested in November 2012 and sentenced to 15 years' hard labour in May.
Last month, North Korea revoked an invitation for Robert King, the US special envoy for North Korean rights, to visit Pyongyang to discuss the case.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has a baby daughter called Ju-ae, retired US basketball player Dennis Rodman says.
Mr Rodman, who was in North Korea last week on a "basketball diplomacy tour", made the comments in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.He said that he spent time with Mr Kim's family by the sea, and described him as "a good dad".
